Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Draws Crowds This Weekend
October 29, 2009

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show opens today for the 50th straight year with more than $3 billion worth of boats, yachts, and the latest in marine electronics and equipment. The Fort Lauderdale Show typically kicks off the new boating season and draws buyers and shoppers from all over the world.

If you go, don't expect to see the show in one day. This is the world's largest boat show and it is spread out at six different locations. No wonder folks call Fort Lauderdale the Yachting Capital of the World.  A network of water taxis, riverboats and bus shuttles will make it easy to get around. Get a map and plan your day. It will help you make maximum use of your time.

You'll find boats at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Pier 66 Marina and the Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club. The show runs through Nov. 2.
