Summer is here! Well, almost. Summer doesn't officially begin until June 21, but try telling that to the thermometer.
We've got the heat, the sunshine, the humidity -- it's the perfect time to cool off in the Gulf of Mexico or in the Atlantic Ocean.
Expect temperatures at the beach to reach highs between 88 and 91 degrees on sunny days, and nighttime lows to be in the 70-80 degree range, depending on the prevailing weather patterns.
Some Florida summer beach weather basics:
- Sea breezes usually kick in around 11a.m. as the land heats up faster than the water.
- Although many areas may experience a brief shower on an almost daily basis, they don't last long, and usually occur either in the morning or afternoon, depending on weather patterns.
- Steady winds off the water mean lower daytime temperatures and higher nighttime temperatures.
Expected temperatures for June:
Panama City Beach - Hi 90, low 70, water 81
Jacksonville Beach - Hi 88, low 73, water 80
Daytona Beach - Hi 90, low 72, water 80
