2009 Sanibel Shell Fair and Show

Come and see the largest and longest running shell show in the world. Hosted by the Sanibel Community Association and the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club, this popular show attracts shell enthusiasts from all over the world. Here's a list of some of the things you'll see and experience:
  • Scientific and artistic competitions (amateur and professional)
  • Rare Shells
  • Shell jewelry and arts and crafts
  • Workshops and demonstrations
  • Food vendors
  • Authors' table and book signing

What: Sanibel Shell Fair and Show.

When: March 5 - 7, 2009. Hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday & Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Where: Sanibel Community House 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel Island.

Cost: Shell fair is free. $3 charge for shell show admission which houses juried art and scientific exhibits.

Parking: Free.

Sanibel and Captiva Islands are world famous for their shelling opportunities, and March is a great time to schedule a shelling trip. Once you visit Sanibel, you'll fall in love with this unique gulf coast island; there's no place like it.
