Holiday Tour of Historic Inns in St. Augustine
December 06, 2007
Ah, yes, the weekend is coming. Only 19 days until Christmas. Long lines at the mall. And you have yet to face rows of trees at Christmas tree lots, too many to choose from, let alone decorate.

No, wait, scratch all that!  Drop everything! Instead, there is something wonderful to do this weekend - go to the 14th annual Holiday Tour of Historic Inns in St. Augustine presented by St. Augustine Historic Inns and its 25-member bed and breakfast innkeepers (http://www.staugustineinns.com)

Romance and history come alive inside St. Augustine historic inns. Add Christmas splendor and taste treats by many of St. Augustine's finest restaurants, Whetstone Chocolates (oh, I'm doomed) and the San Sebastian Winery and even the Grinch himself will be smiling. All the inns are located within the historic district of the nation's oldest city.

The Holiday Tour happens Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9. Hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Twelve inns are open for display on Saturday and 13 inns will be open on Sunday. Tickets are $35 in advance, or $40 on the day of the tour. To get advance tickets call (904) 819-3566.

This year a special booth at a new location has been set up to help people purchasing tickets. The booth is clearly marked and located on Orange Street at Cordova Street, next to the Oldest Drugstore. Tickets also available at a second booth located at Wachovia Bank on King Street, across from the entrance to Flagler College.

Tickets are a non-refundable donation. The beneficiary of the 2007 Holiday Tour is The Empty Stocking Fund which assists needy area families during the holiday season.

Grab your family and friends and go.
