Ahoy Mateys, where's your pirate?
November 06, 2007
Got pirates?

Yep, lots of them. Surrounded on three sides by water, Florida has a history of sailing ships loaded with bounty and pirates wanting to steal all that treasure were not far behind.

We don't forget our pirates. Instead, we celebrate them.  Argggggh!

From Nov. 16-18, check out the Fifth Annual Florida Pirate Festival at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg.

Not all pirates are big and scary. Here's one that is medium size and plush - a puppet I saw at the Sponge Exchange in Tarpon Springs.

Has anyone been to the Pirate Soul Museum in Key West?

Yes? What are your comments? I wanted to go there last time I was in Key West but life intervened.

As always, get real, find authentic Florida -
