Get Ready for the Fourth of July
June 02, 2009
What are you doing on the Fourth of July? It is a big day for family and friends and coming up fast.

Two suggestions:

Cedar Key, on the Gulf of Mexico, has its annual Clamerica Celebration Saturday July 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is a day for family and all things clam - clam bag races (I'm not making this up), clam hunts, cultured clam cook-off. Live music in the waterfront park. If weather permits, fireworks will light up the sky in the evening. Have you had clams in Cedar Key? Yummm. The best. This could be fun.

Hollywood, in the Fort Lauderdale area, takes to the beach on the Fourth of July from 5 p.m. to 10  p.m. with family entertainment, live music, marching bands on the Boardwalk (how cool is that?) children's entertainment and Uncle Sam will be there too. An offshore fireworks display happens at 9 p.m. Admission is free. Call 954-961-6386.

Stay tuned. More suggestions coming soon.
And Share a Little Sunshine by sending videos to family and friends inviting them to share our best asset, sunshine! Every time you sent a video, you are entered to win prizes - week four (this week) the prize is a getaway to the Daytona Beach area. Enjoy
