Art Basel Goes Haute Couture
November 18, 2007

This year's Art Basel Miami Beach is inching closer, and new exhibitors are being added every day, it seems. One of these is none other than Thierry Mugler, who will participate in the inaugural In Fashion '07 exhibition, presented by Miami Beach Art Photo Expo, the region's newest org for contemporary photography. The French fashion icon's images, which will be seen for the first time in the US, reflect the period of his life following a long sabbatical.

In general, In Fashion '07 will feature more than 200 exclusive pieces of signed fashion photography, representing artists such as Kanjo Take and Miles Aldridge from 12 countries including France, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom. It'll all be on display on the grounds of The Surfcomber Hotel, 1717 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, FL, December 2 through December 9.

It'll all be arranged on an elaborate 60-foot-high, 30,000-square-foot structure that will cover the grounds of the property and pool area.

Pretty cool, that. Or haute, if you prefer.

Each signed photograph from the collection – the works individually valued between $5,000 and $40,000 – will be available for purchase throughout the duration of the exhibit. Entrance to In Fashion ’07 will cost $10 and will be free for college students with a student ID. For further information, call 305.407.2855 or visit www.artphotoexpo.com.
