While I've been known to check out a gallery or music festival solo every once in a while, I must say that there's nothing more special than enjoying the arts with friends old and new. If you are anything like me, then I've got the perfect event in Daytona Beach to tell you about!
The creators of the Daytona Beach International Festival have created "Cocktails & Culture," a series of events that gives the public a sneak peek of musicians set to perform in the legendary festival.
Occurring once a month at the Shores Resort and Spa from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., "Cocktails and Culture" is completely free for all who are interested in soaking up the arts while enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
Mark your calendars for the next "Cocktails & Culture" events to be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, March 5 and April 2. Grab a group of your best friends and enjoy the previews -- and of course, don't forget to buy your tickets for the 2009 season. On Feb. 5 you can enjoy a live performance by Two Trebled Girls, Kelly Parsons and Kelly White. For those with a taste for all things British, the Shores Resort & Spa will host a delectable "Fish & Chips" dinner.
While completely free, entry to “Cocktails & Culture” is limited to the first 150 guests to RSVP, so be sure to sign up early. Contact the DBIF Box Office at 386-257-7790 to get on the list.
The Shores Resort & Spa is located on 2637 S. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach Shores. For more information, visit the official Daytona Beach International Festival web site. |
