For most, William Shakespeare triggers memories of our beloved high school English classes.
Over the next two months, The Reduced Shakespeare Company aims to recreate the comedies
of the Bard of England to make audiences laugh and learn in Miami. The company will perform "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised]" at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts from Nov. 26 through Jan. 18.
In an hour and half, the show's three actors speed through 37 of Shakespeare's plays in a spectacle promising to impress both his fans and phobics alike. Expectations in South Florida are high as the show has garnered international acclaim from London to Japan, and has even gotten airtime on NBC, CBS, PBS and National Public Radio. The Reduced Shakespeare Company was even a category on Jeopardy!
Tickets are priced from $40 to $50. For tickets and more information, call 786-468-2326 or visit www.arshtcenter.org. Proving literature has entertainment value beyond the classroom, this show sounds like it is definitely worth checking out.
