Once again, South Florida will be alive with the sounds and movements of Afro-Cuban culture this summer! Celebrated dance company IFE-ILE Inc., run by creative director Neri Torres, will heat things up in Miami with dance lessons, performances and parties highlighting the rich arts of the Caribbean island.
The 11th annual IFE-ILE Afro-Cuban Dance & Music Festival will be held at the Arts and Minds Center in Coconut Grove on July 24-26 . Welcoming visitors from all over the country and as far away as Belgium and Italy every year, this event promises to be another smash hit. Master classes will be taught in intricate styles such as Guaguancó, Orisha, Son, Gagá, Congo, Arará, Samba, Contemporary Afro-Modern, Capoeira, Batá Drumming and more.
As if that were not enough, the company will also perform alongside renowned dance companies from Brazil, Haiti and Colorado in exclusive performances of “In the River of Her Eyes” and “Sambo’s Sister.” To learn more about the parties, performances and class schedules, visit www.ife-ile.org. |
