With our year-round warm climate and sunshine, there is no better state in this country than Florida to enjoy the beauty of our gardens and wildlife. It's no surprise that countless artists regularly attempt to recreate the serene landscapes with stunning results. From now until Aug. 2, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota will host a beautifully complex exhibition entitled "Picturing Eden."
Not just focusing on the beauty of an oasis, 37 renowned painters also attempt to insert political and atmospheric themes into their work. The different components of the exhibition are entitled: Paradise Lost, Paradise Reconstructed, Despairing of Paradise and Paradise Anew, and focus on reflecting the artists' individual renditions of the garden of Eden. Each painting has a photographic inspiration behind it, which is uncanny as the exhibition is hosted by George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film.
