No one can argue that Miami is the Mecca of Cuban culture in our state. From the sweet smells of Cuban delicacies and the sounds of salsa on Calle Ocho in Little Havana, this fact is undeniable.
This is the last week that you can catch a tribute dedicated to Cuban salsa icon Celia Cruz at The Adrienne Arsht Center in downtown Miami. Entitled "Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz," the musical rendition of her life story will run until Sunday, June 21 and feature some of her greatest hits (and one of my personal favorites, “La vida es un carnaval” ). I've heard that this show is amazing and highly recommend that you make it over before the final curtain for an explosive evening of music and culture!
You can watch an amazing video clip with more information about Celia Cruz's life and the show on the Arsht Center website here. Tickets are $60-125 and can be purchased by calling 305-949-6722. |
