Last summer's Olympic ceremonies in Beijing, China, were an unbelievable display of the power and strength of the human spirit. For those who enjoyed it, a great new museum lecture series in Palm Beach celebrating "greatest American underdog team in history" might be just right for you ...
Those with a sporty and patriotic spirit will enjoy "Sports Legends of the Gilded Age" a new series at the Flagler Museum. On Feb. 22 at 3 p.m., all are invited to enjoy a book signing by Florida's own Susan Saint Sing, author of "The Wonder Crew: The Untold Story of a Coach, Navy Rowing, and Olympic Immortality." The book tells the story of the U.S rowing team in the 1920 Olympic ceremony and their unlikely yet storied defeat of the British.
Admission to the lecture is $5 for members and $20 for non-members. Visit the museum's website www.flaglermuseum.us or call 561-655-2833 for more information. |
