Even though the world renowned Brazilian carnival celebrations are now over, those with a hankering to experience the culture of this vibrant nation will have a chance to do so this weekend in Jacksonville!
This Saturday, March 7, the University of North Florida Fine Arts Center will host DanceBrazil, a dynamic dance company that pays homage to hypnotizing Afro-Brazilian dances. Perhaps the most popular of them all include my personal favorite: Capoeira. A fast-paced combination of martial arts and dance popularized by slaves in Brazil over 400 years ago, capoeira is an important and visually stunning relic of Brazil's history.
