One of my favorite spots in all of Miami is the Miami Beach North Shore Bandshell. I have so many wonderful memories of concerts and parties of years past held there. This Friday through Sunday (Feb. 6-8) promises to be another memorable weekend as contemporary performance art lovers celebrate the 20th birthday of one of the cities most revered institutions: Miami Light Project.
If you don't know, Miami Light Project is the an organization that South Florida residents have counted on for innovative and contemporary music, dance and theater performances. Their contribution to the arts and culture landscape is immeasurable.
The requested attire is '60s Caribbean chic, and although I'm not sure exactly what that means, it definitely sounds like fun! Held as part of Global Cuba Fest, (a music fest featuring Cuban Rock, Jazz, Pop and Hip Hop artists) the event will offer "a cocktail party and concert by two-time Grammy Award winner Albita; a Saturday night paella dinner and concert the avatar of romantic Cuban music, Alex Cuba; and a Sunday night concert by Yosvany Terry under the stars at the North Shore Bandshell."
Admission varies, and prices are:
Concerts only: $20-50
Friday Night Cocktail Party and Concert: $60
Saturday Night Paella Dinner and Concert: $150
