The Zora Neale Hurston Festival for the Arts & Humanities this weekend was an amazing event that satiated my interest in not only local literature but also Florida's music.
An exciting exhibition at the Museum of Florida History in Tallahassee caught my eye and I would love to share it with you!
Running until Mar. 1, the exhibition entitled "Florida's Got the Blues!" pays homage to the genre of music made famous by so many Florida musicians, including Ray Charles, Tampa Red and Blind Blake.
A combination of photography, historical objects (including a pair of Ray Charles iconic sunglasses), a blues stage and blues ensemble. The exhibition provides an all encompassing window into the heart of blues music in our state. Such a rich history deserves an exhibition of this magnitude!
Admission is free. For more information call 850-245-6400.
