Like Florida, Latin America is a confluence of cultures and peoples.
These many influences translate into a rich artistic heritage, and it’s on display through Dec. 5 at the third annual ‘Art Expressions of Latin America III: The People,’ an exhibit at the Southwest Florida Museum of History located in historic downtown Fort Myers.
Seven countries are represented by 22 artists working in media including oils, pastels and sculpture. Many of these premier Latin American artists now reside in Florida, too. (This group knows beauty when they see it.)
Latin American art is one of the hottest markets in the world. You can appreciate why in this exhibit, which focuses on themes that are central to Hispanic life and culture no matter the country of origin. In spite of the commonalities, the variety of expression is breathtaking.
Included among the artists are Marie-Anne Sabourin, Columbia; Lidia Dick, Argentina; Quintin Pérez, Mexico; Ana Abreu, Dominican Republic; Dilya Schauer, Columbia; Mireya Power; and Amarilis Dieppa, Cuba.
For a full list of artists exhibiting and details to plan your visit, check the website. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 5.

I would look on the Guatemalan government's website for cultural links. Good luck!
