So bring them along on the THIRD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH from 9am to noon for a special event called Pups at the Point. Visitors to Historic Spanish Point may bring their dogs with them as they tour the museum’s 30-acre site on Little Sarasota Bay. This family fun event is sponsored in partnership with the Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC). Representatives from The Humane Society of Sarasota County may be on hand to answer your questions about pets and adopting a new family member. The World Ocean Day Family Festival will be held in the Mote Aquarium Courtyard from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. The festival will be free with paid admission to the Aquarium and free to Mote members; an attendance of 2,000 is expected at the event. International children’s entertainer Rosie Emery is scheduled for several performances during the festival. Additional highlights of the event will include games and crafts focused on green practices, marine exploration and conservation, facilitated by Mote and other organizations or businesses. Event sponsors include Ameriprise Financial, AT&T, ABC 7 and SRQ Magazine.
