Girl Scouts Explore

The Florida Museum of Natural History is offering “Girl Scouts Explore: Archaeology” May 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts will earn a special patch created for this event allowing Scouts to explore the world of archaeology and find out about Florida’s past. Wicked Plants: The Exhibit

Step into a realm where plants hold the power. Poisonous, carnivorous or just plain nasty, experience some of the world’s most diabolical botanicals – without the risk of intoxication, addiction, dismemberment or other danger. Featuring more than 100 plants and thrilling two- and three-dimensional interactives, this eerie environment educates and entertains audiences with information about some of Mother Nature’s most appalling creations. Funded by the North Carolina Arboretum Society and the Creel-Harison Foundation.

Creative B Movie Series

Join a panel of scientists, artists and special effects experts as we view and discuss films in the Creative 'B' Movie Series. Friday nights in July, the Museum and Creative B host a free movie screening to explore the balance between science and art with our expert panel. The Museum will be open to the public from 6 to 10 p.m. The panel discussion starts at 7 p.m., followed by the movie. Parental discretion is advised.

A celebration of wings, wildlife & biodiversity! Explore the lives of bats, bees, birds and butterflies at this fall’s ButterflyFest. Enjoy the Butterfly Plant Sale beginning Friday, Sept. 30, one of the Museum’s largest plant sales of the year with more than 150 species available. Learn about butterfly gardening, native pollinators, conservation, backyard wildlife and more. Enjoy butterfly releases and come dressed in your favorite pollinator attire for the Pollinator Parade!
