A wedding – your wedding – is a big deal. A huge deal.
It’s the celebration of the beginning of sharing your life with your chosen partner, forever and ever. 'Til death do you part. So, of course, it’s only natural that you want a very special place for this very special ceremony.
I think the beach – because it’s beautiful and because looking at it and smelling it and walking on it makes you feel good – is perfect for weddings. The Sunshine State boasts a boatload of beaches that are the bomb for getting hitched, and I just discovered another incredibly romantic stretch of sand to say I do.
Its goes by the name of Palm Island Resort, located along the Intracoastal Waterway on Florida’s southwest gulf coast in the Charlotte Harbor area. The resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beach on the Gulf of Mexico at the northern end of Palm Island -- which is 700-yards wide at its broadest! My husband Paul and I stayed in a tropical villa at the resort, which is only accessible by boat or ferry. Golf carts, bicycles and walking are the only means of transportation.
