Florida Travel: How to do Turtle Nesting in Florida
By How to Do Florida
People loved sea turtles a long time before Finding Nemo. And Florida is the premiere nesting ground in the entire western hemisphere. Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge has two locations to view sea turtles in Florida. One location is Barrier Island Management & Ecosystem Center in Melbourne beach, about an hour east of Orlando. The second location for sea turtles in Florida is Sebastian Inlet State Park, roughly two hours southeast of Orlando. Bring your beach walking shoes, bug spray, water and a sense of adventure — and leave flash cameras and anything with a light on it behind. Tour nesting sites with an experienced guide and leave with a true sense of wonder.
