Historic DeLand "just seems to embody everything that's good about Florida," says VISIT FLORIDA Insider Gary McKechnie. "It's a quiet town — there's just a sense of Americana here that you can't find in a lot of places." There are no chain stores here. Browse LPs at Groovy Records, or stroll through the Florida Museum for Women Artists. It's a perfect slice of pure Florida, and a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.

Dally in the Alley bistro spotting!
So excited to see the little town that we call home being recognized for all of its charm. No matter where I've traveled in the world I've never found anywhere else that feels so original and welcoming. DeLand has really become a treasure thanks to the small businesses like Dally in The Alley, Santorini' s, The Muse Bookstore, Anna Bananas, The Pinup Parlor Boutique, I could go on and on. Thank you for sharing our little slice of paradise.
Groovy Records is definitely *the* place to check out!!
