Planning a summer vacation for the family in Florida? Here are some ideas to help:

For thrill-seekers – Don’t miss the 150-foot Doctor Doom’s Fearfall at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, or The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, both in Orlando. The Tower, which opened in 1994, drops riders 13 stories, and back up -- just to drop them straight down again, all in the dark.

For nature fans – Take a trip to Ellie Schiller Homasassa Springs Wildlife State Park in Homosassa. With 72-degree water temperatures year-round, this safe haven is a popular spot for wild manatees. You can also see key deer, flamingos, bald eagles, black bears, bobcats and even a hippo.

For beach lovers – On Clearwater Beach, don’t miss the nightly festival at Pier 60 with arts/crafts vendors, food, live music and a spectacular sunset along the waterfront. On Anna Maria Island and in the Bradenton area, in addition to kayaking, parasailing and Segway tours, you’ll find a less conventional way to enjoy the waterfront: riding a horse on the beach.

For foodies – Take a trip to Highway 30A in Northwest Florida and visit Seaside to find tasty food and locally owned eateries, including food trucks creating beach favorites with a twist. Paired with great views of the water, it's a food lover’s paradise.
