The river has been designated an Outstanding Florida Water and is part of Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve. It flows for 4.5 miles through Little Manatee River State Park. The park has limited fishing access on the banks of the Little Manatee River. All freshwater fishing rules and regulations apply.
