Now this is cool! If you have an iPhone, you won't need to lug around that printed Florida field guide anymore. Yep, the next time you are in the woods and are trying identify a particular plant or animal, just whip out your iPhone and fire up the Nature Viewing Along the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail app. You'll have access to information on 200 birds, 247 flowering plants, 106 butterflies and habitat information across all 491 sites on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Viewing Trail.
The app was developed by the Florida Museum of Natural History, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the University of Florida, with additional help from the Florida Wildflower Foundation and others.
The free app is compatible with iOS 5.0 and later, and will run on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Open iTunes and use this link to locate the app. Have fun!
