If you haven't made it out to Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River for one of the open house events yet, you'd better hurry – the last one for the year is this Saturday, Feb. 11! Here's the deal: The property surrounding beautiful Three Sisters Springs isn't open to the public yet, so the only way you can check out the new boardwalk and have a look around is during an open house event. Don't miss out!
The weather's pretty warm right now, but there are still a few manatees hanging around. The boardwalk surrounding the springs affords visitors an excellent vantage point to see manatees below. At the open house event, there will be guided walks around the Three Sisters Springs property, information on how to spot manatees in distress and plenty of other manatee-related information.
Since the property isn't open to the general public on a regular basis, shuttles from the nearby Kings Bay Shopping Plaza will run from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For more information on the open house event, contact Ivan Vicente, US Fish and Wildlife Service, at 352-563-2088, ext. 211.
