It's Trail Tuesday! This week, I thought I would share a clip from the annual ride on the Withlacoochee State Trail, a 46-mile paved paradise for all sorts of activities. Running along the side of the trail, you'll often see folks riding horses, especially more toward the southern section of the trail where things are a little more rural.
Since I live in Inverness, I've spent a ton of time on the Withlacoochee State Trail. It's even part of the linear Florida National Scenic Trail, so occasionally you'll come across a long-distance hiker here, too. My personal favorite trip on the Withlacoochee State Trail is starting at Liberty Park in Inverness, and heading south all the way to the southern terminus at the Owensboro Trailhead near Dade City.
If you haven't had the opportunity to take part in one of the annual rides, make plans to do so. It's a good time! Watch the video, and check out the trails section of VISITFLORIDA.com for more information on the Withlacoochee State Trail.
