Lion Country Safari: Affordable and Wild Family Fun

Lion Country Safari is the nation’s first “cageless zoo” and if you haven’t been, you really need to go!

You’ll find Lion Country Safari 10 miles west of the Florida Turnpike at the Southern Boulevard Exit in Palm Beach. When you arrive, there is an area to your right with bathrooms and snacks – be sure to stop here. The safari can take from 60-90 minutes and you cannot get out of your car. So use the restroom and get some snacks before you start!

When you reach the Jurassic Park-like gate, it’s time to pop in the CD you were given at the drive-thru ticket booth. It’s like having your own personal tour guide! Listen and learn about the four different areas you’ll see and what animals to look for.

Have your camera ready but leave your windows and doors locked! The animals may come right up to your vehicle. You can pull over at any time to watch a bit longer. You can see lions, zebras, rhinos, ostrich, wildebeest, kudus, impalas, giraffes and more – there are over 900 animals!

Drive thru as many times as you want during your day here but don’t miss their Safari World Amusement Park. You’ll find:

  • Rides
  • Petting Zoo
  • Gemstone & Fossil Panning
  • Safari Splash Zone
  • Giraffe feeding
  • Lory feeding

Ticket booths open at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. (park closes at 5:30). Prices are below (plus tax):
