Camping at Florida Caverns State Park

Friends, I have to tell you -- my latest state park trip was fantastic! Last week I spent a few days camping at Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna, and was by far my favorite trip so far this year. When I camp out, a lot of times I find myself just hanging out at the campsite, but not this time. I was anxious to explore the park from top to bottom - I biked, paddled, geocached, and took the cave tour. If you haven't been to Florida Caverns State Park, make plans to in the near future!

The whole place has a sort of an Appalachian foothills feel to it -- there's some elevation, reddish-brown clay, huge cedar and black walnut trees. If you've been driving all the way up to North Georgia to camp, check out Florida Caverns State Park instead. It feels pretty much the same, and you've got cool freshwater springs to enjoy -- plus the Chipola River is a paddler's dream. For golfers, Florida Caverns State Park has a 9-hole course as well.

I was also there to bring you another terrific VISIT FLORIDA video, so look for that in the near future. You know it's going to be good! As usual, I have a teaser video for you to check out, but the official one is going to be out of this world. Plus, you get to hear my thoughts on the park and see my smiling face on camera. That's definitely worth coming back for! This video should be titled, "Three Dudes Making A Movie About A Movie".  Hope you like it, and plan a trip to Florida Caverns State Park for yourself!

Also, I'll be posting up some video from a paddle on Chipola River and a cave tour as well. Keep your eyes peeled for that!
