Sanibel is a small island off the west coast of Florida best known for its beautiful beaches, amazing shelling and laid-back lifestyle. You won’t want to miss another treasure on this island though – the Sanibel shopping! You simply can’t leave Sanibel without a memento from your trip, so check out my list of the best places to help you capture those vacation memories.

Periwinkle Place

Periwinkle is a lush paradise of boutique stores that are perfect for a relaxing afternoon of Sanibel Island shopping and strolling. It's home to the original Chico's, which opened there in 1983. Also check out Classic Collections, a store full of jewelry and home decor that captures that island feel.

Tahitian Gardens

Located just down the street from Periwinkle Place, Tahitian Gardens is another great shopping area to relax and unwind. One of my favorite stores, C. Turtles, is located here and is full of all the latest women's fashions! They even show you pictures around the store of celebrities wearing the items they currently sell. Other stores not to miss: Adventures in Paradise is stocked full of beachy apparel and accessories for both guys and girls. Pandora's Box features super-unique gifts and trinkets you won't find anywhere else.

Tanger Outlets

For great deals on retail, check out the Tanger Outlets located just outside the bridge to Sanibel Island. These colorful buildings offer a great sampling of brand names like Gap, Coach, LOFT and Nike for less.

Where to stay: I stayed at the 'Tween Waters Inn on Captiva Island and loved it! It's a resort located right on the beach with a huge gym, tennis courts, a pool, a spa and two restaurants.

Where to eat: Try the lobster quesadilla at the Crow's Nest at the 'Tween Waters Inn. And for a quick lunch, stop in the Sanibel Cafe for a sandwich and some ice cream.

Have fun on your Sanibel shopping trip!
