It's a Die-Hard's Dream at Orange County National

    By Carling Nolan

If you're planning to visit Orlando for business or pleasure, the trip wouldn't be complete without a round at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.

With 45 holes available, Orange County is perfect for the die-hard golfer looking for 36-hole days. There are two championship courses -- the Panther Lake and Crooked Cat Courses, and a 9-hole course called the Tooth Short Course. Both are PGA Q-School locations with distances of 7,350 yards and 7,493 yards respectively.

Playing from the back tees will serve as an enormous challenge for those looking to be tested. However, there are five sets of tees available, making the course playable for golfers of any level. The facility has been given 4½ stars by Golf Digest from 1999-2007 and ranked as one of “Best Places to Play”.

Orange County National is known for its rolling terrain, strategically placed bunkers, and large contour greens. Crooked Cat is more of a links course with fewer trees than the Panther Lake Course, but both offer an incredible game of golf. The Tooth Short Course has been set up with slighter elevation changes and challenging bunker shots and greens. Many people consider the short course when on a tight time schedule or are trying to practice up for the longer courses.

If you're planning a trip to Orlando, you'll be kicking yourself if you miss out on the chance to play at Orange County National!
