Quick Golf Getaways to Warm Northeast Florida

    By Tim McDonald

If you're looking for a quick Florida golf getaway or a even more extended golf vacation here in our unseasonably warm state, there are plenty of discount packages going on now. Florida's First Coast of Golf has more than a dozen deals.

    The long of it:

Stay five nights at the Residences at World Golf Village and play five courses, from $673.
The Residences have three-bedroom condos with full kitchens, living rooms and screened patios. The courses in the package deal are Eagle Landing, Cimarrone, Fleming Island, South Hampton and the St. Johns Golf and Country Club.
Click here to see my video of Cimarrone and here for my video of Fleming Island.
The short of it: One night at Comfort Suites World Golf Village and one round at Bent Creek starting from $94. Plus, throw in free breakfast. Bent Creek is one of those municipal courses I rave about from time to time, a superb city-owned facility.
Of course, there are a lot of offers in between: two-, three- and four-night stays with golf. The lodging is spread around the whole area, from Amelia Island to Palm Coast, with a dazzling, downtown Jacksonville deal as well.
But dude, if it were me, here's the one I'd look at hard, but that's just me:
Stay: Three nights at Courtyard by Marriott in St. Augustine. Play: Four rounds at North Hampton, Cimarrone, South Hampton and St. Johns Golf and Country Club.
