So Out They're In: GLBT guesthouses in Fort Lauderdale

    Planning a trip to South Florida and looking for a LGBT-friendly place to stay? Fort Lauderdale claims more than 30 gay guesthouses. Here are four of the most popular. Find more suggestions at 

    • Coconut Cove Guesthouse: Built in 1939 and recently renovated, the three-story structure surrounds a lush courtyard and a clothing-optional pool. “Key West” influenced plantation-style wooden verandas and louvered doors open from the guest quarters. Rooms are non-smoking and air-conditioned, with Wi-Fi, king and queen beds, and full bathrooms.     • 15 FTL Guesthouse: 15FTL is tucked away in Victoria Park, a quiet upscale residential neighborhood between Fort Lauderdale’s beaches and downtown and the gay mecca of Wilton Manors.     • Blue Lagoon Resort: Centrally located on A1A and just steps from Fort Lauderdale beach, the resort just completed a renovation of its 16 rooms.
