City Personality : South Walton is a collection of 16 coastal beach neighborhoods stretching along 26 miles of breathtaking coastline in the heart of Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast. Driving through the neighborhoods of South Walton offers a remarkable display of different architectural styles. Rosemary Beach features fine homes inspired by Dutch and West Indies designs of the Caribbean, while Cape Cod is accurately represented in WaterSound. White picket fences surround the pastel homes of Seaside, and Alys Beach stands out because of its homes with white stucco walls and white-ridged roofs.
Property Diversity : South Walton’s 16 beach neighborhoods offer a diverse and eclectic experience for visitors, catering to groups of every size. Large groups gravitate to the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Embassy Suites-Miramar Beach and Seascape Golf, Beach and Tennis Resort. All offer a variety of meeting spaces and accommodations, as well as amenities for attendees and their families to enjoy during free time. Smaller groups from two to 300 retreat to communities such as Rosemary Beach, Seaside and WaterColor, all which recreate authentic community life, traditional Southern hospitality and a sanctuary from fast-paced lifestyles. Their community philosophy -- planning for the future by reinterpreting its past -- makes these venues ideal for incentive retreats, small board meetings and team building. Yet another ideal venue for smaller groups is TOPS’L Beach & Racquet Resort adjacent to Topsail Hill State Preserve, the most pristine coastal property in Florida.
Natural Assets : South Walton is an ecological paradise: More that 40 percent (56,000 acres) of the area is preserved state land, providing many natural attractions. There are miles of paved trails that are ideal for biking, hiking, jogging and rollerblading, and the state parks, including Point Washington State Forest, also have trails for off-road biking. Fresh and saltwater lakes, the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico provide many waterfront miles for swimming, fishing, kayaking, YOLO boarding and other recreational pastimes. South Walton is home to the largest concentration of rare coastal dune lakes in the world. Similar ecosystems can only be found in the Madagascar, Australia, New Zealand and the Northwest Pacific Coast of the U.S.
Golf & Spa : Golf enthusiasts will want to take a swing on one of the many highly acclaimed courses. With 207 challenging holes of the Gulf's top-rated, professionally designed, well-manicured courses, spending a day on the greens is par for the course.
