Clearwater, FL (Jan. 30, 2013) - The Clearwater Regional Chamber celebrates, along with all of its partners, the top honors awarded to Clearwater Beach by the USA Today contest for Best Beach Town in Florida for 2013.
The results of this online competition were announced Jan. 25 in the USA Today newspaper and at Florida Huddle. Coastal expert Stephen Leatherman, also known as Dr. Beach, a professor from Florida International University, submitted the 10 Florida beaches that were competing. Of the 30,000 votes, more than 25 percent selected Clearwater. As the winner, Clearwater Beach will be featured in a Feb. 15 travel story in the USA Today.
