Smokin' In The Square BBQ Cookoff

Friday, noon - 9 p.m.| Saturday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Professional barbecue teams from around the U.S. will gather to compete at the first barbecue contest locally to be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KSBS). Professional teams will be competing for prize money and points. Local barbecue enthusiasts also will be competing for prize money and bragging rights in the Backyard competition. Great family fun, entertainment, and food. Proceeds go to local charities.

Annual Interstate Mullet Toss

Perdido Key's Flora-Bama Lounge hosts this wacky annual tournament that has participants compete in tossing an actual mullet across state lines. A Mullet Toss consists of individuals on the beach throwing a mullet, from a 10-foot circle in Alabama across the state line into Florida. Not to mention a great excuse to throw a weekend long party, with lots of fun activities, great music and food!

Santa Rosa Island Triathlon

Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade

The Christmas Parade includes local bands from every high school in Escambia County, groups from around the region, and as far away as Houston and New Orleans. The Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade profits go to local high school band booster organizations to assist in the purchasing of uniforms and equipment and funding of travel expenses. Preceding the parade is the popular 1.2 miles Christmas Parade Dash, sponsored by the Pensacola Runners Association. With nearly 400 participants each year, the Dash uses the Cox Pensacola Christmas parade route just prior to the start of the parade.
