Michael O'Connell is an artist living in Clearwater, Florida originally from Johnson City, NY. Having graduated from the Tampa Tech School Of Art and Design, Michael has over 25 years of experience in the design field and currently works for Sharpline Converting, the country's leader of vinyl graphics.
He started his professional career as an airbrush artist for Tampa's Busch Gardens. His designs and logos can be seen through out Florida and the Tampa Bay area. Also a self-taught contemporary painter, his mixed works combine bold use of colors and imagery to make his paintings both versatile and memorable at the same time.
His works have been featured by the Tampa Bay Lightning's Celebration Of The Arts, Perdido Key Wine Festival, Blissfest Music Festival and the National CIAA Basketball Tournament to name a few.

Youth Jazz Talent Showcase
Jacksonville Jazz Festival is a pleased to bring the Youth Jazz Talent Showcase, a live talent competition open to young jazz singers and musicians. The winner will receive a cash prize to be used expressly for the purpose of furthering his or her musical education. Finalists will perform at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 24. Winners will be selected by a panel of music adjudicators who specialize in the arts forms of traditional and contemporary jazz and blues. Trophies will be awarded to 1st-3rd place winners. Applicants must be between the ages of 7 and 21.

Join the City of Jacksonville in celebrating Independence day with live entertainment, interactive activities, food and beverages, and a spectacular fireworks display.
Attendees under the age of 21, must be accompanied by an adult 21 and older to enter The Jacksonville Landing.
Food and beverage vendors and interactive displays and activities will be programmed along the Northbank and Southbank.
Fireworks can be viewed from the Northbank and Southbank of the St. Johns River. There will be two river barges; one near The Jacksonville Landing and the other behind the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. The show will be choreographed to
special patriotic soundtrack, with audio on both the Northbank and Southbank.
Calling all college football fans! Join the City of Jacksonville for the celebration that attracts fans from far and near. Don't miss RV City presented by Winn Dixie, the Touchdown Showdown (the home of interactive games, jumbo screens to watch the big game and more), the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Corporate Village and much more! It all leads up to the big game on Saturday, October 31 at EverBank Field. Anyone who says it's just a game has never been!
The City of Jacksonville and the Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services Department will hold a parade in Downtown Jacksonville to honor the men and women of the United States Military who have fought to preserve our nation's freedom.
The many individuals, groups and organizations participating in the parade feature senior military officials, active-duty military, and retired military units. There will be veterans groups, JROTC units, local high school marching bands and various organizations. Adding color to the festivities, there will be decorative floats and giant balloons along the route.
If you’d like the chance to ride on
a float to honor our veterans you can enter the contest at the Make a Scene Downtown Facebook site and answer the question, “What does Jacksonville’s military mean to you?”
Beginning on Water Street at Pearl Street near the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts, the parade will make a left turn left on Newnan Street and then right on Bay Street. It will continue on Bay Street to Gator Bowl Boulevard and it will end in front of Everbank Field.
Thanksgiving weekend wouldn't be complete without the Jacksonville Light Parade. Each year, more than 200,000 people line the banks of the St. Johns River to celebrate the holiday season. Seafarers and landlubbers of all ages are sure to be dazzled by the area's largest lighted boat parade.
On new year's eve in Jacksonville the crowds generally head to the downtown area, where food stalls and several stages with various entertainment keep everyone occupied leading up to the midnight fireworks display, the main ones of which are launched over the St John’s River at The Jacksonville Landing.
For those who manage to avoid too much of a hangover though the biggest party in the area actually takes place on New Years Day, also in Downtown Jacksonville, with the famous Gator Bowl Parade, previously sponsored by Winn Dixie, but now promoted by Taxslayer.com. making its way through the streets to great general acclaim and preceding

For the big night before though, there is plenty activity in the city to keep you entertained. The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra will be performing their New Year show at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts.

The TaxSlayer Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. Originally named the Gator Bowl, it has been held continuously since 1946, making it the sixth oldest college bowl, as well as the first one ever televised nationally. TaxSlayer.com became the title sponsor in 2011 and the bowl took its current name in 2014 after a new contract. The bowl is operated by Gator Bowl Sports and will be played on January 2.
