Description:

Meet a manatee up close, face-to-face, underwater without even getting wet. This Florida State Park is a showcase for Florida's native wildlife in a natural setting of woods and wetlands. Stroll along the Wildlife Walk to view black bears, foxes, river otters, cougars, bobcats, key deer and hundreds of birds. New additions of endangered species include a Florida panther, three d Red wolves, and two Whooping cranes. Daily educational programs on manatees, alligators and Florida snakes. Pontoon boats from Visitor Center to wildlife park, weather permitting.

Novice and experienced birders are invited to take a guided bird walk on Pepper Creek Trail. Leaders from Citrus County Audubon Society take birders on this guided walk. Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. This is a leisurely-paced walk on a handicapped-accessible, paved trail. Please call the park at (352) 628-5343 to register. Regular admission applies for entrance into the wildlife park after bird walk on Pepper Creek.
