Description:

Completed in 1887 the Ponce Inlet Light Station and museum is a National Historic Landmark and one of the last complete large light stations remaining in the U.S. Visitors can climb 203 steps to the top of the tower for a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean, inlet and inland waters. The lighthouse remains a working private aid to navigation to this day. The light station allows visitors the opportunity to climb the lighthouse and tour the historic keepers dwellings containing exhibits on lighthouse history, the US Life Saving Service, Fresnel Lenses, Lighthouses for Airplanes, and much more. A unique nautical gift shop is on site.

National Lighthouse Day

Join us at the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and celebrate National Lighthouse Day. This is an important day in history when the senate declared that each and every August 7th be designated National Lighthouse and Lighthouse Preservation Day. See our historical lighthouse exhibits, and participate in turn of the century kid’s activities. Visitors on National Lighthouse Day will have the opportunity to participate in family fun activities and learn about the life of lighthouse keepers and their families. Spirit of 45 Day

August 10, 2014
Visit the Lighthouse and capture the spirit of 1945, when the United States’ involvement in WWII ended. In 2010, Congress voted unanimously in support of this day, coinciding with August 14, 1945, the day President Truman announced that WWII was over and America assumed the leadership in rebuilding the postwar world.
