The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is proud to offer a permanent exhibit dedicated to the role of this lighthouse in the war effort as well as a number of ongoing programs that reference the Second World War. In 2010, Congress voted unanimously in support of this day, coinciding with August 14, 1945, the day President Truman announced that WWII was over and America assumed the leadership in rebuilding the postwar world. Enjoy the traditional sounds of a bugler at the site of the tallest light house in Florida. Lighthouse admission will be free for all retired veterans with proof of service.
