Come and experience a tropical oasis, where Old Florida meets a dense and diverse collection of native plants and exotic specimens unique to this growing zone. Its winding pathways and expansive waterscapes combine with a variety of palms and ferns to form a unique "jungle garden" landscape. Rich in history, McKee Botanical Garden dates back to the 1930s, and is recognized as one of Florida's first and most treasured natural attractions. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is endorsed by the Garden Conservancy as a project of national significance. It features two unique structures designed and built by founder and folk artist Waldo Sexton as well as the United States' first permitted bamboo structure. Children who visit are encouraged to navigate their own Garden adventure with one of McKee's Garden Discovery Backpacks. Each backpack contains age-appropriate educational materials and tools to create their very own Garden adventure. Five themes are available: Garden Explorer, Things with Wings, It's a Bug's World, Plantastic and Survival: Lost in the Jungle. Backpacks can be checked out at Garden Admissions for no additional cost and may be enjoyed during the visit.

Nature Connects: Art With LEGO Bricks Exhibition

Nature Connects: Art With LEGO Bricks Exhibition by world-renowned artist Sean Kenney will be on display at McKee Botanical Garden from November 5, 2016 through May 7, 2017. This year's exhibition features thirteen larger-than-life sculptures built with over 300,000 LEGO pieces as well as a LEGO Brick build station. 13th Annual Waterlily Festival

13th Annual Waterlily Celebration "A Spectacle of Color" - Enjoy the splendor of the Garden adorned with the state's largest collection of waterlilies. See a spectacular display of lotus and waterlilies in full bloom! The day's events include repotting demonstrations, a plant sale, and vintage home and garden accessories. Plant experts will be available throughout the day to answer questions and advise guests on how to characterize hardy species from tropical varieties.
