Description:

A non-profit, statewide network of ancient and contemporary Indian sites in Florida.  The purpose of the Trail is to promote awareness, responsible visitation and protection of the fragile remaining cultural sites of the original people of Florida and to showcase the vibrant cultural sites of the contemporary Indians of Florida. Network members include heritage tour operators and over 50 public organizations such as  local, state and national parks where mounds and middens exist; exhibits of artifacts in museums and other attractions. With funding from grants, the Trail publishes a heritage tourism brochure which is available free at all member sites and at the VISIT FLORIDA Welcome Centers. The Trail often produces a free speaker series at member sites featuring the top archaeologists and heritage artists in the state.
