Description:

See the Fakahatchee without getting your feet wet. Explore the Boardwalk, your window into the Fakahatchee, where you will be surrounded by old-growth cypress trees and can marvel at the gators in the pond. The Boardwalk is on US-41 (Tamiami Trail) near the Indian Village, 7 miles west of SR-29 (I-75 exit 80). There is no charge but donations are welcome.

If you are more adventurous, follow a park ranger into the unique cypress swamps of the Everglades. Find out who in your group is best at spotting rare orchids and other flora as well as the fauna of the swamp. Guided swamp walks available mainly fall, winter and spring at Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, reservations required, see website or call 239-695-1023.
