Description:

Lake Talquin is a man-made lake, formed in 1927 when the Jackson Bluff Dam was constructed on the Ochlockonee River to produce hydroelectric power. The lake now offers outstanding recreational opportunities for largemouth bass, shell cracker and speckled perch sport fishing, nature walks, picnicking and boating. Because the lake is inundated with logs and stumps, no swimming is permitted.
