Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a small, seaside town on Florida's east coast just north of Fort Lauderdale. Once you arrive in this coastal community of 6,000 residents and park, you can walk just about anywhere: the beach, Anglin's Pier or the numerous shops and restaurants lining Anglin's Square, the Town's quaint oceanfront district. If you'd rather just take it easy and stare at the ocean, just sit yourself down one of the boat benches under the beach pavilion. There's plenty to do: walk along the Town's Blue Wave beaches, take a ballroom dancing lesson, fish off the pier, go paddle boarding or snorkel on a coral reef. With a reef located within 100 yards of the beach, the Town is Florida's Beach Diving Capital.
Anglin's Square in the Town's vibrant downtown is transformed by live music on weekends as residents and visitors alike descend upon the oceanfront plaza to dance the night away. The Town's official motto is, Relax...You're Here. Unlike surrounding cities, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea refused to allow tall condos along its beach. As a result, the community has maintained its Old Florida charm reminiscent of Florida in the 1950s.
