Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch

Seaworld Orlando - details / Tabs

A non-profit organization striving for a suitable habitat for sea turtles, people and the eco-system of the island and it surrounding waters.  Morning Nesting Tours and Nest Excavations After Hatching are where you can join us for an up close and personal look into the life cycle of the Loggerhead Sea turtle.  Tours run June through September. For 28 years Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch has coordinated conservation efforts for 12 miles of Manatee County shoreline.  In almost  three decades, we monitored 6539  turtle activities, protected 3534  nests, 29,694 turtle eggs, and watched 215,680  hatchlings depart to become a future generation of loggerheads that will return to the region as they reach maturity — in about 30 years.
