The historic Russ House was built in 1895 by Joseph Russ. The iconic structure was built in a Victorian style and later renovated to its Neoclassical architectural wonder. Legend of the house involves ghosts, Civil War battles, affluent social events and a suicide. Mr. Russ was an entrepreneur businessman making his fortune in cotton and owning a merchant store. The house is home to the visitors center invites open to the public for free tours, wedding destinations, etc
