A 4,660-acre National Natural Landmark located on the western edge of the Ocala National Forest. One of the world's largest freshwater springs, a group of 30 artesian spring vents form the 5.4 mile Silver River. Glass-bottom boats offer 30 minute tours of the water but canoes and kayaks offer the best way to experience the crystal-clear river with nothing but wild Florida along its banks. Hiking, biking and camping are popular recreations. Modern vacation cabins are also available. On weekends and holidays, explore the pioneer "Cracker" village at the Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center. Ranger programs offered every weekend as well as seasonal events, festivals, and concerts throughout the year.
