The U.S. Forest Service manages the three National Forests in Florida, the Apalachicola National, Osceola National Forest, the Ocala National Forest. These 1.2 million acres of public lands provide a variety of outdoor recreation experiences including, hiking, biking, camping, hunting, fishing, OHV riding, swimming, birdwatching, boat riding, etc. The Forest Service also manages one of only eleven National Scenic Trails designated by Congress. It extends approximately 1,000 miles throughout the state of Florida, from Big Cypress National Preserve to Alabama border. The National Forests in Florida and the Florida National Scenic Trail provide an unparallel opportunity to experience Florida's diverse culture, natural resources, and history.
