Palma Sola Scenic Highway

Located on beautiful Palma Sola Bay in Manatee County this scenic stretch of highway provides a wonderful area for sunbathing, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and picnicking. Two boat ramps are also available on the corridor. From Palma Sola Scenic Highway it is just a short distance to Anna Maria Island and the Gulf beaches, as well as the Robinson Preserve, Perico Preserve, Neal Preserve and De Soto National Memorial. America Recycles Day at SandBlast is an amateur sand sculpture competition that pairs youth groups with local business sponsors. A professional sand sculpture team called Team Sandtastic starts two days before the event by building an 80-ton exhibition sculpture. This fun family event also celebrates America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day (officially on Nov. 15) dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products, so as to create a better natural environment. Join the fun in the sun and sand the 3rd Saturday every November at Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Dr.
